1. Professional training students of Traditional Chinese medicine for one semester

Enrollment shall target at students with a certain basis of Chinese. In consideration of the specificities of traditional Chinese medicine, the restriction on learner’s age can be properly relaxed.

The goal is to train students to be able to understand and speak Chinese in general occasions, to master a certain basic vocabulary of traditional Chinese medicine as well, and on the basis of which, to know some basic theories and knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine, so as to strengthen students’ understanding and knowledge of traditional Chinese culture.

Students are required to mainly study Chinese and basic theory of traditional Chinese medicine and complete studying practices based on traditional Chinese medicine culture. The total class hour is about 360 hours.

In which, the course of Chinese consists of the module of language skill and the module of traditional Chinese medicine related language and culture skills; for the module of language skill, comprehensive Chinese, listening, speaking, Chinese character and reading, etc. are set up for mastering about 450 basic Chinese words; for the module of traditional Chinese medicine related language and culture skills, listening and speaking of traditional Chinese medicine related Chinese, reading and writing of traditional Chinese medicine related Chinese and basic Tai Chi, etc. are set up for mastering about 200 basic traditional Chinese medicine related Chinese words.

The course of Traditional Chinese medicine consists of the basis of traditional Chinese medicine, subject of prescription and subject of acupuncture. Combined with the study of Chinese, Studying practices shall be carried out mainly by visiting traditional Chinese medicine cultural and medical institutions, the content of which covers the theory of Yin and Yang and five elements, the theory of Zang and Fu, the theory of Qi, blood and body fluid, the theory of Zang and Fu and etiology and pathogenesis, four diagnostic methods of traditional Chinese medicine, basic concepts of traditional Chinese medicine prescription, subject of acupuncture and moxibustion therapy, acupoint positioning and the acupuncture therapy in treating a small number of common diseases.

The goal is to train students to have the ability of cross-culture communication by using Chinese, to be able to understand and speak Chinese in general occasions, to master traditional Chinese medicine related Chinese and culture skill as well, and on the basis of which, to learn about basic theories and knowledge and practice skill of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture, so as to have a primary understanding of acupuncture in treating common diseases.

Students are required to mainly study Chinese and basic theory of traditional Chinese medicine and complete studying practices based on traditional Chinese medicine culture. The total class hour is about 720 hours.

In which, the course of Chinese consists of the module of language skill and the module of traditional Chinese medicine related language and culture skills, the course of Chinese includes the module of language skill and the module of traditional Chinese medicine related language and culture skills ; for the module of language skill, listening, speaking, Chinese character and reading, etc. are set up for mastering about 900 basic Chinese words; for the module of traditional Chinese medicine related language and culture skills, listening and speaking of traditional Chinese medicine related Chinese, reading and writing of traditional Chinese medicine related Chinese and basic Tai Chi, etc. are set up for mastering about 400 basic traditional Chinese medicine related Chinese words.

The course of traditional Chinese medicine theory consists of the basis of traditional Chinese medicine, traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis, prescription subject of channel and collateral, subject of acupuncture, subject of acupoint, subject of needling and moxibustion, and subject of acupuncture and moxibustion therapy. Its content covers the theory of Yin and Yang and five elements, the theory of Zang and Fu, the theory of Qi, blood and body fluid, the theory of Zang and Fu and etiology and pathogenesis, four diagnostic methods of traditional Chinese medicine, basic concepts of traditional Chinese medicine prescription, summary of channel and collateral for acupuncture and moxibustion, acupuncture and moxibustion therapy, acupoint positioning, cupping method, the theory of channel and collateral, subject of acupoint, acupuncture with electric stimulation, auricular needle therapy, differentiation of symptoms and signs for classification of syndrome, prescription of adjunct acupuncture points and acupuncture therapy in treating common diseases.

During the period of study, Studying practices combined with the study of Chinese shall be carried out mainly by visiting traditional Chinese medicine cultural and medical institutions.
